About the album
Answers to April was created by Kevin Goldsmith in 2013 as a move toward something more melodic than his work as Intonarumori (his 20-year project at that point, focused on experimental noise and electro-acoustic textures) and his heavier post-rock work with bands like Vassily and Transpacific.
Over the next 13 years, he has created music that is sometimes minimalistic and fragile (Interlude, Pacific Way), sometimes bordering on aggressive (Molochna, Outro), and sometimes leaning towards experimental ambiance (This Noisy World).
This album brings together previous singles and new songs, but it feels cohesive rather than retrospective. It shows the range and growth in an artist's expression as they chart a new course for themselves, delivering approachable music that is not afraid to challenge the listener at the same time.
